My pineapple dress is from H&M and my grey sweater is from Jacob. My necklace is from UBC and my bracelet is from Dollarama. My ring is from Boca Raton Designs at Greek Day and my #SELFIE iPhone case is from Aldo. I got these earrings at Claire’s. They have cats on them. Because why not? I’m not a cat lady. I’ve never even owned a pet. But if I were to ever own one in the future, it would most likely be a cat. I haven’t washed my hair since I got it cut on Saturday. And I don’t plan on doing so anytime soon. I’m still trying to figure out the longest amount of time I can possibly go without washing it. I also painted my nails. Badly. They’ll most likely be chipped by tomorrow. But my hair looks good, so nothing else matters, right?
This has been a week of pants. Because why not? I got this top from an Orb warehouse sale a few years ago. My green cardigan is from Ross Dress For Less and my black pants are from Old Navy. My green leaf necklace is from UBC and my green earrings are from Car Free Day on Main Street. My matching bracelet is from Dollarama and my green ring is from Greek Day on Broadway. And I totally left my ring in my office and forgot about it. I didn’t realize it until I was already at the bus stop, suddenly aware of my naked finger. That ring is my blingiest one, so now my weekend will be filled with less bling than it otherwise could have. I’ll have to make up for it in some other way.
Oh my God, the smoke! On the radio this morning, they were saying how it’ll be sunny today, but you won’t be able to see it through all the smoke. It’s kind of cool in my office building so I’m still wearing sweaters inside. I got this dress at Car Free Day on Denman a few weeks ago. I thought it was a nice colour and nice design. I got this sweater at Ross Dress For Less in the States a few years ago. It’s not as thick as some of my other sweaters, so I thought it would be good for today. My necklace is from UBC and my bracelet is from Dollarama. My earrings are new, I got them at Car Free Day on Main Street a few weeks ago. I got my ring is from Boca Raton Designs at Greek Day on Broadway a week ago. I think it’ll fit a lot better in the winter when my fingers don’t swell so much from the heat.
I got this dress at H&M at Richmond Centre last week. It’s the same style as the one I have with the green leaves on it. I normally don’t like to buy things that are so similar, but this one was on sale for only $7, so I figure I couldn’t go wrong. It’s one of those dresses where it’s not my favourite, but it’s still nice. At first I thought it had pinecones on it, but now I think they’re actually pineapples. I paired it with my green Ross cardigan.
My black necklace is new. I got it at Greek Day on Broadway on Sunday. It was from the same vendor that I bought my purple necklace from. I got my green earrings from another vendor, also at Greek Day. They are little clothespins. I thought that was unique. My bracelet is from Dollarama. This green ring is from Boca Raton Designs, also at Greek Day. I was only going to buy the purple one, but the guy told me he’d give them to me for a bit less if I bought two. Yes, it’s tight, but I figure I’ll just wear them while I can, until one day my fingers swell and I’ll no longer be able to. But for now, I’m loving the bling. I’m also wearing new shoes today, but you can’t see them in this photo.
I thought I would wear something red in my outfit today since tomorrow is Canada Day. I don’t know if you can tell but if you look closely you can see that my earrings are little Canada flags. I found them at Claire’s and thought they were cute. My red top is from Suzy Shier from several years ago. I just bought this skirt at Old Navy over the weekend. I think it may actually be the only skirt I have that fits me right now. Wearing dresses is so much easier. Less pieces of clothing to put together. My outfit doesn’t even really match right now but oh well. I was trying to find a sweater this morning and my mom looked outside and was like “Does it look like you need a sweater?”. But I explained that I like to wear one in the office because the temperature is good inside the building. I just grabbed this black Bryan’s cardigan before I left the house.
I unfortunately did not get a matching Canada flag necklace to go with my earrings, so I wore this key and rose Claire’s necklace instead. My bracelet is from Dollarama and my purple ring is from Boca Raton Designs at Greek Day. Yes, I’m still wearing it even though it’s too tight. I tried contacting the vendor, because I have his business card but I haven’t received a response. I don’t expect him to take it back, but it would be nice if he could let me exchange the second ring I bought, which seems to be even tighter than this one. Also I got my eyebrows done last week if anyone cares. Can you even tell or should I not have bothered?
I’m not dressed very summery today. But screw the weather, I’ll wear what I want. Besides, temperatures are supposed to soar this weekend, so I’ll save the summery dresses for that. I got this top at an Orb warehouse sale. The red sweater is from Sears and the pants are from Winners. My Nintendo heart necklace is from Fan Expo Vancouver, my bracelet is from Dollarama, and my ring is from UBC. My earrings are new, I got them from a vendor at Car Free Day on Main Street on Sunday. The same vendor I got the blue earrings from, who called me back to his booth to offer me a free third pair of earrings if I bought the first two. I touched up my nail polish with a clear coat of polish. Do they look shinier now? I realized I should have painted them red since Canada Day is coming up next week. I don’t want to remove the polish and repaint them since they actually look decent. But it’s okay, I have plenty of red jewellery and clothing to make up for it.
Why yes, this is a new dress. Thanks for noticing. I managed to drag my ass out of the house yesterday to go to Italian Day on Commercial Drive with my friend. I’m not the hugest fan of street festivals, mainly because I hate crowds, but I like to attend them occasionally and it was fun. Hot and crowded, but fun. I shaved my legs really quickly in the morning before leaving the house, but my electric razor died before I was done. But I figured it was okay that I didn’t fully shave, since that could be my way of celebrating Italian Day. Since people in European countries aren’t as obsessed with shaving as we are in North America. There were lots of booths and vendors selling various goods and food. Of course I would stop to look at the ones with dresses. I can’t remember which store this one was from, but they had a booth set up and some of the racks had dresses priced at 2 for $30. So this is one of the 2 I decided on. I didn’t try them on, so I wasn’t sure if they would fit properly, but I decided to risk it. It’s a little loose, but otherwise fits well. Better too big than too small, because I’m not going to try squish into a dress that doesn’t fit. My only regret is that I didn’t buy a Janet Jackson shirt that they had in the same booth, especially since she’s touring this summer and I could’ve worn it to her concert. But maybe I can go back and still find at some point. I really like this dress because it’s so bright and colourful. And it just so happened that my green Ross cardigan would match exactly the colour of green in the dress. It’s like it was meant to be. I wore it with my green and gold jewellery, necklace and ring from UBC, earrings from a Lansdowne kiosk, and bracelet from Dollarama. Yay for adding more colourful dresses to my wardrobe!
So for some reason I thought this dress was longer than it actually is. Since it is in fact, above the knee, I had to quickly (badly) shave my legs a bit this morning in order to make wearing a dress acceptable. I long for the day when hairy legs on women are no longer an issue. Will that day ever come? Or am I doomed to shave everyday for the rest of my life? On Friday, I had thought about wearing this dress, but decided on a different one. And it was a good decision too, since I found myself sitting beside a girl who was wearing this very dress on the way to work. I’m glad we managed to avoid a “who wore it better?” competition on the bus. I figured if that girl were on the bus again this morning, she wouldn’t be wearing the same outfit again so soon. And I hoped that no one else would either. I got the dress at H&M at Pacific Centre a couple months ago. The matching green sweater is from Old Navy at Richmond Centre. My necklace and ring are from UBC, my earrings are from a kiosk at Lansdowne Centre, and my bracelet is from Dollarama at Landosowne Centre. After seven days, I finally washed my hair on Saturday. As you can see, it is no longer straight. I’m fine with my natural waves, I just wish there wasn’t so much frizz.
Maybe the reason why I thought this dress was longer is because it was longer on that other woman who wore it. I should know by now that any dress is a short dress when I wear it.
I decided to wear another dress on Friday, despite the fact that my leg hair was growing back. It’s a slightly longer dress, and I figure most people aren’t looking closely at the bottom half of my legs, so it’s fine. I got this dress at Suzy Shier at Capilano Mall a couple years ago. Normally, pleated skirts make me think of old lady outfits or my kilt from my high school uniform, but I like it on this dress. Floral patterns on black dresses are my favourite. I got this green cardigan at Ross Dress For Less in the States. I pretty much like to wear my blue flower necklace from UBC whenever I have similar flowers in my outfit. This ring is also from UBC, and has unfortunately lost a stone. But you can’t tell unless you look at it really closely. I guess that’s what happens when you buy a cheap $15 ring in a student union building. But as long as the main stone in the middle stays intact, I will continue to wear it and get my money’s worth. My earrings are either from a mall kiosk or a hair product store, and my bracelet is from Dollarama. Can chipped nail polish please become a new trend? Because I would love that so much. I had gone seven days at this point without washing my hair. I know that may seem unacceptable to some of you, but look how good it looks. I mean, it’s not stunning, but it’s so neat and smooth. I knew I would be sad upon washing it again and succumbing to the inevitable frizz.
Since Wednesday was supposed to be another cold and possibly rainy day, I reluctantly decided to wear pants, despite the fact that I had shaved my legs just a few days earlier. These black pants are from Target and are a bit lighter than my Marshalls ones. I got this top at Sears at Richmond Centre not too long before they closed. My dad put it on his Sears card so it would be cheaper. Thanks Dad! Since the weather was cooler, I decided on my red Vero Moda blazer from The Bay. This worked well, since these pants lack pockets, but this blazer has quite spacious ones. My black scarf is from an Orb warehouse sale, my red video game heart necklace is from Fan Expo Vancouver, my red earrings are from a kiosk at Lansdowne Centre, my ring is from UBC, and my bracelet is from Dollarama. It had also been five days since I’d washed my hair, and I didn’t plan on doing so anytime soon. Whenever I happen to take the time to straighten my hair, I like to wait as long as I possibly can in order to prolong the effects.
