When I came home from work that day, my sister asked me if I’ve been wearing more suits lately. I told her I don’t wear suits. I guess she meant blazers. Which I guess I have been wearing more often. Apparently she’s noticed. I’ve had this black blazer from Bryan’s for a while now but had yet to wear it. It’s kind of looser fitting than my other blazers, but I like it. I like being able to look professional without looking super feminine sometimes. I got this red shirt at Dynamite a while ago and this was my first time wearing it as well. It was a little wrinkled, but you can’t tell because I covered it up. My red scarf is from a kiosk in Metrotown, and my red heart necklace, which is unfortunately blocked by my scarf, is from Carleton Cards and has my birthstone. I like buying jewellery from places you wouldn’t expect.
Yes, I finally wore an outfit that matched my Winners cell phone case! I love leopard print. Some people find it weird that I have so many articles of clothing in leopard print but I don’t care. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it and I think it looks good. I got this sweater from H&M. They had it in a bunch of solid colours as well, but obviously this one was the best. The matching scarf is from that Metrotown scarf kiosk. Yes, they had other options besides sparkly. And the necklace is from Payless. Because every shoe store should have a good selection of nickel free jewellery. I wore this blue Dynamite dress during my first week of work, but it’s one of my favourites, so why not wear it again? I think blue pairs nicely with leopard print. These earrings are from Claire’s. I hadn’t worn them in a while but they seemed to go with this outfit. Leopard print forever!
On the twelfth day of work selfies… I must confess I actually don’t know where I bought this outfit from. I mean I remember buying these things but I don’t know from which store. Just that this scarf is from Avon, the belt is from Dynamite, the necklace is from UBC, and the earrings are from a kiosk in Lansdowne Centre. You don’t always need to know where something came from in order to appreciate it.
I decided to continue with some blue in my outfit on my fifth day of work. I don’t know if Casual Fridays are a thing, but I like to keep it classy. After trying on this sweater in like ten different colours at Sears, I decided to get the blue one since it was the brightest of the options (RIP Sears, why are all these stores closing on me?). Not to be outshined by the sweater, the blue sparkly scarf is one of a few sparkly scarves that I purchased at a kiosk in Metrotown (I was Christmas shopping at the time and not supposed to be buying stuff for myself, but who could resist a bright and shiny new scarf?). One of my former coworkers told me that I should get some fish earrings to wear with the scarf since it reminds her of the ocean. The blue belt actually came with the dress from Dynamite that I wore the day before, but since I neglected to wear the belt that day, I decided to give it a chance with this outfit instead. The blue flower necklace which so nicely matches the sweater and the scarf was one of the necklaces I bought at the UBC student union building from one of the vendors. I pretty much bought the most blinged out stuff he had as my reward to myself for getting a new job. Last but not least, I got this little black dress from Ross during one of my trips to the States (I feel like I’m due for another one soon…Road trip anyone?). Now I wish I’d bought the sweater in more colours like I did with the scarf. So I could repeat this outfit with all the colours of the rainbow.
I think this might be my favourite outfit. I just bought the sweater at Forever 21 recently and this was my first time wearing it. This type of blue is my favourite. I got the dress from Dynamite a few years ago and love how well it matches the sweater. I got the leopard print scarf from a vendor at the UBC student union building. I used to be obsessed with buying scarves there. My matching phone case is from Winners.
Being blue makes me happy.
