Forty-seventh day of work selfie

I got this blue top from Suzy Shier.  I also have it in black, but they were like $5 each, so why would I not buy more than one?  I think it was at Richmond Centre before they closed so maybe that’s why it was so cheap.  My purple sweater is from Urban Behavior in Metrotown.  Blue and purple are two of my favourite colours and I love pairing them together.  My jewellery includes my Swarovski necklace, Claire’s earrings, UBC ring, and Dollarama bracelet.  It’s getting warmer so I may not be wearing these Marshalls pants for much longer.

Forty-sixth day of work selfie

Why not wear pink stripes?  I think I got this sweater at one of those random stores at Lansdowne Centre years ago.  It used to have a belt, but as I’ve previously mentioned, I’ve somehow manage to lose literally all of my belts.  I got my black top at Ross Dress For Less in the States and my black pants at Marshalls.  I don’t know why I decided to wear all black on a warm day.  Throwback Thursday to when I worked at Jacob and was required to wear all black?  I didn’t really need a scarf because it was warm enough, but I thought I may as well wear one while I still could, and the metallic one just made the outfit a bit more exciting, along with my Payless heart necklace, Claire’s earrings, Dollarama bracelet, and UBC ring.

Of course I had to wear my grey Vero Moda blazer from London Drugs again.  The only thing I don’t like about this blazer is that the pockets are fake.  I love pockets because I always have random stuff with me and they always come in handy, so fake pockets are kind of like a slap in the face.  But it’s okay.  They are forgiven, because this blazer is otherwise just so fabulous.  I feel like this grey goes well with navy, so I paired it with this navy top that I got at La Vie En Rose.  I suppose it’s technically meant as a pajama top or loungewear or whatever, but I felt like it was too nice to have its use be limited to just in the house.  I wanted a really light scarf for that day so I chose my rainbow looking one from the UBC Sub.  And I decided to wear my Swarovski necklace again with my Payless earrings, UBC Sub ring, and Suzy Shier bracelet.  And Marshalls pants.I’m going to miss wearing blazers when the weather gets too hot.

Fortieth day of work selfie

This outfit is kind of dull, but not every day has to be super fancy.  You may have also noticed my lack of makeup for several weeks.  That’s a combination of lack of time and lack of caring and also the fact that I don’t really find it necessary everyday.  Once in a while, I may feel like it, but the majority of the time I’m perfectly fine without it.  The best thing about this is at the end of the day, not having to remove it.  You wouldn’t believe how much relief it is to not have to spend time trying to properly remove your makeup before you go to bed.

This top is from an Orb warehouse sale.  The random ruffles across it elevate it out of it’s otherwise plain status.  The grey sweater is from Jacob.  It originally came with a belt, but who knows what happened to that?  I’ll probably keep wearing these black Marshalls pants until I shave my legs and go back to wearing dresses.  But who knows when that will finally happen?  Your guess is as good as mine.  I will keep wearing my UBC Sub jewellery until it breaks.

Along with lack of makeup, you may have also noticed my lack of doing anything with my hair.  What am I supposed to do with it?  My hair just doesn’t naturally shape well and is always super frizzy.  I usually don’t have time or just don’t remember to attempt to add product to smooth it out.  My method of doing my hair involves tying it back in a messy ponytail and hoping for the best.  Then later, removing the hair tie and seeing how it looks down.  And if it’s not acceptable, putting it back in a ponytail.  The frizziness of my hair seems to be immune to hair products.  Oh well.

Thirty-fifth day of work selfie

Black Marshalls pants forever.  I got this purple top at Ross Dress For Less in the States.  I remember trying to decide and someone tried to persuade me no to get it because I already had enough purple tops.  But you can never have too many purple tops, especially when they’re all different styles.  I like this particular style with the circular embellishment on the side.  The sweater was also from Ross.  I’m not actually sure what my earrings are supposed to be.  I originally thought they were mini cash registers, but someone told me they look like mini polaroid cameras, so who even knows?  I got them for a dollar at Claire’s so does it even matter?  I got the black beaded necklace at Claire’s as well, and I love it because I can pretty much wear it with any outfit.  I’m glad I bought the ring, I initially wasn’t going to, but that vendor at the UBC sub convinced me I needed it.  And another dollar store bracelet, because, why not?  Oh, and my leopard print cell phone case is from Winners, if anyone cares.

Thirty-fourth day of work selfie

This white top is so old that I bought it at Mariposa.  Does that store even exist anymore?  That used to be one of my go to stores when I was a lot younger because it was cheap.  Like, my dress for my graduation from elementary school was purchased from there.  And then I continued shopping there in high school.  I’m just surprised this top is still white after all these years.  I repeated this blue Sears sweater because I only have so many sweaters.  I think this scarf was from another Orb warehouse sale.  Speaking of which, there was one this weekend in Delta.  But no, I didn’t go.  I own too much from there already.  Marshalls pants because they’re the only ones that really fit.  Blue sparkly jewellery just goes best with this sweater.  Necklace and ring from UBC, earrings probably from a kiosk, bracelet from the dollar store.

What’s worse, dollar store jewellery, or a top that’s over ten years old?

Thirty-first day of work selfie

So I decided to wear this Vero Moda blazer again, but with pants this time. I love it and I wanted to be able to showcase it again before the weather becomes too hot for blazers.  It’s probably one of the best Winners finds I’ve purchased.  My black top is from Suzy Shier and my black pants are from Marshalls.  I feel like my gold leaf necklace just goes best with this blazer since it matches the gold zippers on the pockets.  Speaking of zippers, I also wore my green zipper earrings from Claire’s.  And I make it a point to wear a ring and bracelet because they just add a little something to the look.

I was never a blazer person, but I’ve discovered that they can be fun without looking too overly businesslike.
