I got this long dress at Ross Dress For Less in the States a few years ago but I never really wore it. I’m just not used to long dresses, but I’m beginning to like them more now. My black cardigan is from Sirens. My pink flip flop necklace is from UBC and my pink flip flop earrings are from Claire’s. My bracelet is from a Christmas craft fair at Steveston Community Centre in Richmond and my ring is from the Greek Day street festival on West Broadway. My nails still match this outfit because there is a little bit of blue in my dress.
This has been a week of pants. Because why not? I got this top from an Orb warehouse sale a few years ago. My green cardigan is from Ross Dress For Less and my black pants are from Old Navy. My green leaf necklace is from UBC and my green earrings are from Car Free Day on Main Street. My matching bracelet is from Dollarama and my green ring is from Greek Day on Broadway. And I totally left my ring in my office and forgot about it. I didn’t realize it until I was already at the bus stop, suddenly aware of my naked finger. That ring is my blingiest one, so now my weekend will be filled with less bling than it otherwise could have. I’ll have to make up for it in some other way.
Another blue dress from a street festival. I got this one at Italian Day on Commercial Drive a couple weekends ago, along with the green dress that I wore last week. The styles are similar, but different enough that I was fine with getting both. I really like this colour blue and the designs that are on this dress. It would’ve matched really well with the sweater I wore yesterday, but I didn’t want to wear the same sweater two days in a row if I could help it. Instead, I paired it with this brown cardigan that I got from Bryan’s at Lansdowne Centre, since there is also brown in the dress. My necklace is from Her Story Lockets and I got it at the PNE last year. I actually ran into the girl who runs that business during Car Free Day on Denman Street and she remembered me because I was such a loyal customer. My earrings are new, I got them at Car Free Day on Main Street on Sunday. My ring is from UBC and my bracelet is from Sears. And my nails are still looking good because I touched the up a little bit. I may end up wearing even more blue outfits this week, because it’s my favourite colour, but also because I want my clothes to match my nails. I guess purple would work too because they’re kind of purplish. Or you know, I’ll just wear a different colour entirely. Because really, who cares?
I got this patterned top and this black sweater at Ross Dress For Less in the States. I remember there were other colours of the sweater that I contemplated before deciding on the black one. The white one was nice, but I knew I’d get it dirty. I already had other black sweaters, but this one was special because of the little diamonds along the zipper. I like how they match the ones on my necklace. I love adding a little bit of sparkle to a darker outfit. I think my hair may have still been wet in this picture. Who has time to dry their hair in the morning? I’d rather spend that time putting together an outfit.
Yes, I finally wore an outfit that matched my Winners cell phone case! I love leopard print. Some people find it weird that I have so many articles of clothing in leopard print but I don’t care. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it and I think it looks good. I got this sweater from H&M. They had it in a bunch of solid colours as well, but obviously this one was the best. The matching scarf is from that Metrotown scarf kiosk. Yes, they had other options besides sparkly. And the necklace is from Payless. Because every shoe store should have a good selection of nickel free jewellery. I wore this blue Dynamite dress during my first week of work, but it’s one of my favourites, so why not wear it again? I think blue pairs nicely with leopard print. These earrings are from Claire’s. I hadn’t worn them in a while but they seemed to go with this outfit. Leopard print forever!
I literally bought this dress at Winners the day before I wore it. I had tried it on over the weekend and regrettably not bought it, so when I went back to look for it and it was still there, I knew that it was meant to be. I just fell in love with the shape and the pattern and everything about it. I paired it with my pink cardigan from the Plenty Warehouse sale, because I felt like it matched well, and I had vowed to wear the hell out of it. I was going to the New Kids On the Block concert right after work that day, so I wanted an outfit that was fun. My shiny metallic scarf is pretty much my concert scarf because I like that it stands out. I got my heart necklace from a vendor at Fan Expo Vancouver this year, which was the same weekend as the Plenty sale. I like the style because it’s supposed to be like those life hearts in video games. My earrings are from Claire’s, my ring is from UBC, and I do believe that is another dollar store bracelet. Still not ashamed.
Another dress with flowers on it. Also from the Orb warehouse sale I went to at the Delta Town and Country Inn. Dresses were 3 for $50, and this was one of them. It originally had a belt, or more like a thin rope that tied around the middle. But I’ve somehow pretty much lost all the belts I own. Maybe they’ll turn up someday. Or maybe they won’t. But I don’t need them anyhow. The blue dress is from Forever 21 at Metrotown and the matching blue scarf is from Suzy Shier. And I’m repeating my blue and teal jewellery because these items just happen to match the majority of my outfits. Full disclosure, I got this bracelet from the dollar store at Lansdowne Centre and I’m not ashamed. Why should I pay a lot of money for a nice bracelet when I can get one at Dollarama for $2.50? Sometimes the dollar store has nickel free jewellery too. Dollar stores have come a long way, especially since most items there are no longer just a dollar. There are still items there that I refuse to buy, like underwear or off brand food. But there’s no shame in buying something you think is nice just because it’s being sold at a cheap place.
Seven days… Like in the movie “The Ring”? Never mind. I got this top? Dress? I don’t know, what do you call it when it’s too long to be a top but too short to be a dress? Whatever it is, I got it from one of the many Orb warehouse sales I’ve been to. The matching scarf was also from an Orb warehouse sale. I got the green sweater at Old Navy because I’m a sucker for a sweater with pockets. And I’ve repeated the gold leaf necklace I got from the vendor at the sub at UBC because I love it. I neglected to wear a ring that day. Maybe I subconsciously associated my seventh day with the line “Seven days” from The Ring, & didn’t want to coincidentally wear a ring? I’m not sure if that even makes sense. Whatever.
I think this might be my favourite outfit. I just bought the sweater at Forever 21 recently and this was my first time wearing it. This type of blue is my favourite. I got the dress from Dynamite a few years ago and love how well it matches the sweater. I got the leopard print scarf from a vendor at the UBC student union building. I used to be obsessed with buying scarves there. My matching phone case is from Winners.
Being blue makes me happy.
