Thirty-second day of work selfie

I wanted another fun outfit that day because I was going to a Neil Diamond concert after work.  And yes, I’m pretty sure I was the youngest person there.  I got this dress at H&M.  I actually wore it to my interview for my current job but with a different sweater.  So it has to be lucky or something, right?  Or maybe I just feel really confident when I wear it?  Is it weird that I love a dress with birds on it when in reality I actually hate birds and find them super annoying?  I repeated my purple Jacob sweater and my grey Bryan’s leggings (pretty much the only leggings I own that currently fit).  My aunt gave me these silver earrings as a birthday present one year and I think they might be my favourite pair.  I love that they’re big enough to stand out, but not so big that they’re too heavy or obnoxious.  I decided to wear two bracelets that day, because, yay, concert!  One is from Claire’s and one might be from the dollar store.  The necklace is also from Claire’s and the ring is from UBC.

Looking at the photo, it almost looks like some of the birds on the dress are dying, rather than flying.  Or maybe I’m just seeing it that way because I hate birds?

Twenty-second day of work selfie

I got this floral pattered dress from Costa Blanca, when we still had one at Richmond Centre.  I used to only wear it for special occasions, like Easter Mass, or my brother’s high school graduation, but it’s casual enough for everyday wear.  It’s one of those dresses where it’s like slightly too short to wear without leggings.  I had become so used to wearing darker colours in previous jobs and I like being able to wear something colourful.  I got this purple sweater from Urban Behavior at Metrotown.  I like how my blue flower necklace kind of blends into a lot of my outfits.  The purple scarf is from Suzy Shier.  I’m not sure where exactly I got the earrings from.  But I like them and I tend to wear a lot of small, light, dangly earrings.  I think they were either from this random place in the States that sells hair products, or from a kiosk at Lansdowne.  Or from somewhere else entirely.  All that matters is they look good and complement many of my outfits.

Eighteenth day of work selfie

This blue dress was the first thing I ever bought at Aritzia.  I never shop there, but I was at the mall several years ago with a couple of my friends who loved the store.  They both owned this style of dress in other colours.  I think a lot of people did at the time.  It was expensive for my price range, but this blue one happened to be on sale.  It was only like $10 off, but that was better than nothing.  I think it was $55 on sale for $45, or something like that.  I’m really glad I bought it because I’ve gotten so much use out of it over the years, and it’s my main go to casual dress when I have nothing to wear.  I got this purple sweater and the new H&M at Richmond Centre, when I decided to finally venture in there and actually try something on.  I remember trying to take a selfie in the fitting room, but I couldn’t because my phone was so full that there was no storage left even to take just one photo.  I really liked the colour, but I wasn’t a fan of the sleeves looking like they’re ripped at the cuffs.  Is that a new trend?  But I was willing to overlook it, because one can never have too many sweaters.  I got this scarf at one of the vendors in the UBC student union building a while ago.  I feel like I will never not buy scarves at UBC as long as I’m there.
