I got this long dress at Ross Dress For Less in the States a few years ago but I never really wore it. I’m just not used to long dresses, but I’m beginning to like them more now. My black cardigan is from Sirens. My pink flip flop necklace is from UBC and my pink flip flop earrings are from Claire’s. My bracelet is from a Christmas craft fair at Steveston Community Centre in Richmond and my ring is from the Greek Day street festival on West Broadway. My nails still match this outfit because there is a little bit of blue in my dress.
I got this colourful dress at the Fiji Day festival at Swanguard Stadium in Burnaby a few weeks ago. I wore it to the Vancouver Pride Parade on Sunday because it’s so bright and colourful. My matching blue cardigan is from Ross Dress For Less in the States. My necklace is from UBC and my earrings are from Claire’s. My bracelet is from Sears and my ring is from the Blim Market festival downtown. I finally washed my hair this weekend and then straightened it myself. I will never be able to get it back to salon quality, but at least it still looks decent. I got a shellac manicure and pedicure at Beauty Lounge in Richmond yesterday with a Groupon I bought. This bright royal blue is my favourite colour. Hopefully it will last for a while.
In keeping with the colourful dress theme, I decided to wear one of the dresses I bought at Italian Day on Commercial Drive a few weeks ago. I paired it with my blue cardigan from Ross Dress For Less in the States. My blue flower necklace is from UBC and my blue flip flop earrings are from Claire’s. I got my blue bracelet at Suzy Shier and I got my green ring at Greek Day on Broadway a couple weeks ago. I figured I would wear my short dresses while it’s still hot, since we’re expecting rain this weekend. Finally. But I’ll probably just continue to wear my short dresses even when it rains and the temperatures drop. Because I can.
It’s about time I wore my most colourful dress again. I got it in the States at Ross Dress For Less. I wore it with a more colourful sweater this time, the purple one that I got at Urban Behavior at Metrotown. Apparently there was a stabbing at Metrotown last week, outside Build-A-Bear. I’m glad I generally keep my distance from that mall. It’s actually a terrifying place sometimes. I bought this purple necklace at Car Free Day on Main Street a couple weeks ago. I like how it matches the purple ring I got at Greek Day on Broadway two Sundays ago. I also got my purple clothespin earrings at Greek Day. I guess you could say I’m wearing them ironically, since I don’t actually use clothespins and I hate doing laundry. Maybe they could serve as a reminder for me when I forget to do my laundry?
Oh my God, the smoke! On the radio this morning, they were saying how it’ll be sunny today, but you won’t be able to see it through all the smoke. It’s kind of cool in my office building so I’m still wearing sweaters inside. I got this dress at Car Free Day on Denman a few weeks ago. I thought it was a nice colour and nice design. I got this sweater at Ross Dress For Less in the States a few years ago. It’s not as thick as some of my other sweaters, so I thought it would be good for today. My necklace is from UBC and my bracelet is from Dollarama. My earrings are new, I got them at Car Free Day on Main Street a few weeks ago. I got my ring is from Boca Raton Designs at Greek Day on Broadway a week ago. I think it’ll fit a lot better in the winter when my fingers don’t swell so much from the heat.
I know it’s hot as hell today, but I didn’t feel like shaving so I’m wearing pants. Besides, I said I didn’t want to let the weather dictate my choice of clothing. If I’d read the news before I left the house this morning, I probably would’ve worn something rainbow coloured to celebrate marriage equality in the States. I got this top at a department store called Red Apple in Revelstoke. I went there with my family a couple years ago because my dad had a reunion with some of his high school buddies. I don’t think I could ever live in a small town. Shopping wise, I was like “This is it?”. Red Apple is kind of like a Winners or a Walmart, but smaller with not as much stuff. But I managed to pick up few nice things there, this top included. My mint green cardigan is from Jacob and my black pants are from Winners. My Swarovski necklace was a Christmas gift from my cousins. My bracelet is from Sears and my ring is from UBC. These earrings are new. I got them at Payless, along with some other BOGO jewellery over the weekend. I guess maybe I’ll shave tomorrow and start wearing dresses again. Maybe.
So you can’t really tell from the photo, but this dress is long and almost goes down to my ankles. Well not quite, but it would if I were shorter. I don’t tend to wear a lot of long dresses, because I always find they look weird for some reason, but maybe that’s just because I’m not used to wearing them. I got this one from Ross Dress For Less in the States and this is my first time wearing it. I’ve decided I like long dresses now. I heard it was going to be cold and rainy today. It wasn’t this morning, but it is now. I didn’t want to wear pants, and I didn’t want to re-shave my legs, so this dress worked out well. You might not be able to see in the picture, but the dress has black and grey stripes across it. I wore grey in honour of the new Fifty Shades of Grey book that was released today. No, I’m kidding, I totally didn’t, it was just a coincidence. Why would I want to celebrate such a gross insult to literature? I heard that this new version is even worse than the original and I have no idea how that’s even possible. I tried to read the first book and couldn’t because I was just so shocked and disgusted by the horrible grammar and writing style. Anyway, since I knew it would get cooler today, I paired this dress with my purple jacket that I got at the Plenty warehouse sale and the Vancouver Convention Centre during Easter weekend this year. I love it for its unique zippers and pockets. My necklace is from Her Story Lockets and I got it when they had a booth at the PNE Marketplace last summer, and my lock earrings are from another booth that was also at the PNE during that time. And my ring, of course, is from UBC.
I wish the lighting was better so you could actually see the dress properly. And I wish I had a full length mirror. Oh well.
I decided to wear another dress on Friday, despite the fact that my leg hair was growing back. It’s a slightly longer dress, and I figure most people aren’t looking closely at the bottom half of my legs, so it’s fine. I got this dress at Suzy Shier at Capilano Mall a couple years ago. Normally, pleated skirts make me think of old lady outfits or my kilt from my high school uniform, but I like it on this dress. Floral patterns on black dresses are my favourite. I got this green cardigan at Ross Dress For Less in the States. I pretty much like to wear my blue flower necklace from UBC whenever I have similar flowers in my outfit. This ring is also from UBC, and has unfortunately lost a stone. But you can’t tell unless you look at it really closely. I guess that’s what happens when you buy a cheap $15 ring in a student union building. But as long as the main stone in the middle stays intact, I will continue to wear it and get my money’s worth. My earrings are either from a mall kiosk or a hair product store, and my bracelet is from Dollarama. Can chipped nail polish please become a new trend? Because I would love that so much. I had gone seven days at this point without washing my hair. I know that may seem unacceptable to some of you, but look how good it looks. I mean, it’s not stunning, but it’s so neat and smooth. I knew I would be sad upon washing it again and succumbing to the inevitable frizz.
Why not wear pink stripes? I think I got this sweater at one of those random stores at Lansdowne Centre years ago. It used to have a belt, but as I’ve previously mentioned, I’ve somehow manage to lose literally all of my belts. I got my black top at Ross Dress For Less in the States and my black pants at Marshalls. I don’t know why I decided to wear all black on a warm day. Throwback Thursday to when I worked at Jacob and was required to wear all black? I didn’t really need a scarf because it was warm enough, but I thought I may as well wear one while I still could, and the metallic one just made the outfit a bit more exciting, along with my Payless heart necklace, Claire’s earrings, Dollarama bracelet, and UBC ring.
Yes, I own two of the same blazer in different colours. After finding that green Vero Moda blazer at Winners, I discovered that The Bay had it in red. Red is just so bold and bright and wanted to add more of it to my wardrobe. But that mint green blazer was such a lovely colour too. I debated briefly and then decided to purchase the red one as well. One can never have too many Vero Moda blazers. I just feel ready to take on the world when I wear it. I got this black top from H&M. I think it was at the one at West Edmonton Mall actually. I’ve only been there once. I was there for my brother’s and sister’s youth bowling tournament when they made it to the Nationals. My dad was a coach and so they needed another adult to stay with them while he went to meetings. So I got to spend 3 days standing in a bowling alley. But on the first day, we had free time to briefly visit the mall. I remember I almost bought this top in green, but I’m glad I decided on the black. I remember there was no PST because it was Alberta so I was pleasantly surprised. My video game heart necklace is from Fan Expo Expo Vancouver and my red earrings are from a kiosk at Lansdowne Centre.
