Forty-ninth day of work selfie

So I wore a dress with no leggings on Tuesday, not realizing how cold it actually was.  What a fail.  If there was ever a day when I should have worn pants, that was probably it.  But my leg hair was growing back fast, and I wanted to go bare legged while I still could without having to shave again.  I’m stubborn that way.  I don’t dress based on the weather.  I dress based on whether or not I’ve shaved, and based on what clean clothes I can find that sort of match.  I knew it might be cold and rainy that day, but I didn’t care.

This dress is slightly longer than my other dresses, so somehow I thought that would make it more weather appropriate.  I got it at an Orb warehouse sale at the River Rock Casino.  I feel like I should be wearing a cowboy hat or something, just because I’m wearing denim.  When I was in high school, at an all girls school, they had an idea one year that they would make Valentine’s Day fun by making it a “couples day”, where you could find a partner and dress as some sort of famous couple.  My friend and I did Brokeback Mountain.  I was Heath Ledger.  And I was amazing.  But we unfortunately didn’t win a prize for our awesome efforts.  Probably because it was also a Catholic school and they weren’t ready to accept our same sex love story.

Anyway, I love jean jackets.  I got this one at Old Navy on Robson Street downtown when I had leftover super cash to spend.  I didn’t want to wear an actual rain jacket or anything even though it was cold, because it’s June and I’ve set aside the boots and the jackets.  But this jean jacket seemed acceptable.  It looks as though I haven’t quite set aside the scarves just as yet.  At least not for cold days.  I got this one from a vendor at the UBC Sub.  I got the red necklace as a Christmas gift from my grandma.  The Supernatural wing earrings are from Fan Expo Vancouver, my ring is from UBC, and my bracelet is from Suzy Shier.  I thought about touching up my nails, but I think they’re too far gone now so I’ll just let them keep chipping away until there’s nothing left to see.

Twenty-seventh day of work selfie

I bought this dress during one of my Vegas trips at a random store on the Vegas strip.  It was one of those shops where they sell souvenir Vegas t-shirts and stuff like that.  I like dresses and tops in this style because they’re so stretchy and flowy and comfortable (WordPress is indicating to me that “flowy” is not a word, and tried to autocorrect it to “flawy” instead.  What the hell is flawy?  And yes, flowy is a word.  This dress is not flawy, if anything, it’s flawless.  It’s like there’s a whole damn garden on the bottom of my dress.).  I was going to pair it with my orange scarf to match the flowers and butterflies, but I couldn’t find it so I settled for this green one that I got from an Orb Warehouse sale.  I got this denim jacket from GUESS at Richmond Centre.  I don’t wear jeans anymore, but I still like to rock the jean jackets every now and then.  I never really shopped at GUESS until I won a gift card at a shopping event at Pacific Centre a few years ago and spent most of it at that store.  Ever since, it’s been one of my favourites, but I try to only buy stuff there when it’s on sale.  Since the dress looks kind of fancy, I thought maybe the denim would tone it down a bit for more of casual look.  Since there’s already so much colour going on in the outfit, I thought mostly silver jewellery would be best, with my Payless heart necklace and my Supernatural Fan Expo angel wing earrings.  Because butterfly wings don’t have to be the only type of wings in an outfit.

Thirteenth day of work selfieĀ

I got this purple sweater dress from Bryan’s.  I remember one time I wore it with a belt, and then I took the bus, and then when I got off the bus, I realized I was no longer wearing the belt.  Sadly, the clasp had come undone, unbeknownst to me.  And I couldn’t find a replacement belt the day I wore it here, so I used safety pins to secure the front.  Because I’m resourceful like that.  Like MacGyver. I don’t know where I got the navy cardigan from.  Possible also from Bryan’s.  I used to buy a lot of stuff there, at the Lansdowne Centre location.  I remember my friend saying she wonders how they’re still in business.  Probably because of people like me.  This navy blue scarf with the flowers came in a three pack from Avon.  Which I’m still selling, if anyone cares.  I’m assuming no one does.  I don’t even care.  There’s only so much makeup and random stuff you can order for yourself before you realize you’re not really benefiting from this.  My silver heart necklace is from Payless.  Yes, I buy jewellery at a shoe store.  Because they have a decent selection of nickel free jewellery.  And it was shiny.  I bought this pair of wing earrings from a booth at Fan Expo Vancouver this year.  It was listed under Supernatural jewellery.  Because they’re supposed to represent Castiel.  I also bought a matching necklace, which I’ll be sure to wear another time.  Of all the fandoms, Supernatural is my favourite.  They have their own convention in August, which I kind of want to go to, although I heard from a friend that the people there tend to be crazier than the ones at Fan Expo.  And it’s kind of pricey.  So we shall see.

I’m glad it’s spring and it’s sunny and the weather’s nice, but a small part of me wishes I could go back to the cooler months and wear more of my sweater dresses.

That explains it

I don’t know, when they said she would be cursed with the most powerful evil, I assumed that she would end up being, you know, evil.  Not just a person who makes bad decisions and has a shitty life.  Just because you’re a huge screw up and bad things happen when you’re around, doesn’t mean that you’re evil.  It makes you human.  If she were truly evil, wouldn’t she be more like Cruella, who was just a born psychopath?  When they said that she was cursed with a powerful evil and that her name was Lilith, I immediately thought of Lilith from Supernatural.  Because that bitch was evil.

After watching the last episode, I thought to myself, I feel like maybe I’m actually cursed with someone else’s evil, and that’s why I make bad life choices.  Wouldn’t it actually be great to know that your shitty life wasn’t entirely your fault and that there was someone else to blame?  That every time you made the worst decision ever, it didn’t necessarily reflect badly on you, because that’s the way you were made to be?  If there was such a thing as magic and evil and curses, I feel like that would totally explain my life.
