Sixtieth day of work selfie

It was kind of chilly this morning, so I kind of wished I’d worn a blazer instead of just grabbing a random sweater.  But the weather is actually really nice right now so I have no regrets about my decision.  I decided to repeat another black dress with flowers on it, this time from Suzy Shier.  You can never have too many black dresses with flowers on them.  I paired it with my purple H&M sweater, which I’ve been making good use of since purchasing it a couple months ago.  I like that it’s the same type of purple as the purple flowers on my dress.  Next time I wear this dress, I will pick a different flower colour and choose a sweater accordingly.  My beaded necklace, zipper earrings, and flower bracelet are all from Claire’s and my ring is from The UBC student union building.  I wonder if there are any jewellery vendors in the new student building right now.  I’ve yet to enter the new building, partly because I don’t feel like walking over there, and partly because I’m annoyed that it’s so nice and spacious and I totally could have used a building like that when I was a student, but have no need for it anymore.  I already work in a nice building, so I don’t really need to go all the way over there just to be in another nice building.  I think I’ll wait until I hear about any jewellery vendors being in there, and then I’ll maybe drop in and have a look.

Fifty-ninth day of work selfie

I decided to wear this wonderfully colourful dress to work for the second time.  I think it’s probably the best thing I’ve ever purchased at Reitmans.  Although I did but a pair of tall person pants several years ago that lasted me quite a while.  But this dress is definitely the most fashionable item I’ve found there.   This time I paired it with another colourful sweater, a purchase from Sears before they closed.  While a vibrant, royal blue is my favourite type of blue, I still like this aqua type of blue a whole lot.  I also like the fact that I have the jewellery to match it, with my blue flower necklace and my ring, both from UBC, and my blue bracelet from Suzy Shier.  My blue flip flop earrings are from Claire’s.  I got them a while ago, but decided that I wouldn’t wear flip flop jewellery until the weather was nice enough to wear actual flip flops as well.  It just wouldn’t feel right wearing flip flop jewellery during the winter.  I am wearing a bit of makeup for a change, because I have a hot date tonight.  And by hot date, I mean I’m going out for dinner with my friend so she can redeem one of her free birthday meal coupons.  And if that’s not cause for celebration, then I don’t know what is.

Fifty-sixth day of work selfie

Some days you just don’t feel like wearing bright colours, so I decided to wear this navy blue Ross dress.  Since I lack the boobs to fill it out, I wore this black Walrmart tank top underneath it.  In keeping with darker colours, I wore it with my brown and gold Aritzia sweater.  Actually, now that I’m looking at it, I think the sweater might actually be black, but the gold sparkles cause it to look brown? I figure I should wear a few dark coloured outfits before it gets too unbearably hot and I won’t be able to.  I decided to wear silver jewellery to add some shine to this outfit, with my Payless heart necklace and earrings.  And then my Suzy Shier bracelet and my UBC ring.

Fifty-fifth day of work selfie

This wasn’t what I was originally going to wear today, but I had some unforeseen issues with my initial outfit and this was the next best option. I think I got this dress at Winners.  I hate birds, but I love the bright colours on this dress.  I got the black sweater at Sears.  I have a lot of black sweaters but this is the only one I could find this morning. My pink flip-flop necklace is from a jewellery vendor at the UBC student union building.  It was this necklace that initially drew my attention to that tables, where I then ended up buying three other necklaces and two rings, including the black one I’m wearing here.  I don’t know if you can tell, but my little green earrings from Claire’s are also in the shape of flip-flops.  I got my pink bracelet from a Christmas craft fair at Steveston Community Centre in Richmond.  They threw in the bracelet for free because I’d purchased a few of their necklaces, so this was a nice added bonus.

Forty-sixth day of work selfie

Why not wear pink stripes?  I think I got this sweater at one of those random stores at Lansdowne Centre years ago.  It used to have a belt, but as I’ve previously mentioned, I’ve somehow manage to lose literally all of my belts.  I got my black top at Ross Dress For Less in the States and my black pants at Marshalls.  I don’t know why I decided to wear all black on a warm day.  Throwback Thursday to when I worked at Jacob and was required to wear all black?  I didn’t really need a scarf because it was warm enough, but I thought I may as well wear one while I still could, and the metallic one just made the outfit a bit more exciting, along with my Payless heart necklace, Claire’s earrings, Dollarama bracelet, and UBC ring.

Forty-third day of work selfie

I am just so in love with this colour.  This bright royal blue is my absolute favourite.  I bought this blazer when I was shopping with my friend at Forever 21 downtown on Robson street on St. Patrick’s Day.  Yeah, while everyone else was out drinking in bars, we were out shopping for clothes.  Because that’s what we do.  It was the day before my last day of work at my previous job and I thought I ought to buy some more professional looking clothing for my new job.  This blazer didn’t have a price tag on it, but it turned out to be a decent price for a blazer.   I remember while we were there, my friend found a shirt that said “Leave me alone” and suggested I should wear it as a joke on my last day of work.  Unfortunately, they didn’t have it in my size.

I got the black top at Sears at Richmond Centre before they closed down.  I think my dad actually bought it for me because he had a Sears card so he could get a discount.  My navy blue floral scarf is probably the best thing I ordered from Avon.

I got this necklace from Her Story Lockets when they had a booth set up at the PNE Marketplace last year.  You get to choose which charms you want to put inside the locket to create your own unique, personalized look.  I bought some for friends and family as well, because I think it’s really neat idea and makes a cool gift for someone when you can use charms that reflect who they are.  Mine include shoes, shopping bags, a big sister heart, a camera, and my birthstone. I wish I could find more items in this kind of blue.

Thirty-fifth day of work selfie

Black Marshalls pants forever.  I got this purple top at Ross Dress For Less in the States.  I remember trying to decide and someone tried to persuade me no to get it because I already had enough purple tops.  But you can never have too many purple tops, especially when they’re all different styles.  I like this particular style with the circular embellishment on the side.  The sweater was also from Ross.  I’m not actually sure what my earrings are supposed to be.  I originally thought they were mini cash registers, but someone told me they look like mini polaroid cameras, so who even knows?  I got them for a dollar at Claire’s so does it even matter?  I got the black beaded necklace at Claire’s as well, and I love it because I can pretty much wear it with any outfit.  I’m glad I bought the ring, I initially wasn’t going to, but that vendor at the UBC sub convinced me I needed it.  And another dollar store bracelet, because, why not?  Oh, and my leopard print cell phone case is from Winners, if anyone cares.
