Eighty-ninth day of work selfie

I had some wardrobe malfunctions this morning right before I left the house.  It’s a good thing it didn’t happen after I’d already left.  But I didn’t have time to change my outfit.  Nor did I want to.  I got this dress from a vendor at the Caribbean Days Festival at Waterfront Park in North Vancouver on the weekend.  The guy actually had a small fitting room, so I didn’t have to try on dresses over my clothes like I normally do at street festivals.  This was one of the three dresses I bought, and I think the nicest of them.  I really like the blues and the greens and the different lengths at the bottom of the dress.

But this morning, the left strap broke completely off.  I have no idea how it tore in two places, but somehow it did.  All I had at my disposal was a large safety pin and a small bobby pin.  I somehow managed to reattach the strap and secure it in place with these two items.  I’m resourceful, like Macgyver.  I obviously did a bad job of it, because you can still see the bobby pin and the safety pin.  But I mean it’s just for now, so that I could wear the dress today.  Eventually I will have to attempt to sew the strap back on.  Or get someone else with better sewing skills to do it for me.

For now, you can’t tell anything is wrong because I’ve covered it with my green Jacob cardigan.  I got one of my bracelets at Sears and the other one at Suzy Shier.  My green ring is from Greek Day on Broadway and my blue ring is from the Blim Market Festival on Granville.  My necklace is from Payless and my earrings are from Greek Day.  My hair is definitely becoming less and less straight, but I’d like to think it still looks good.  I tried to touch up my nails again so that they can look good while matching my outfit.  I’m wearing makeup because it’s my birthday week and I can.

Eighty-eighth day of work selfie

My pineapple dress is from H&M and my grey sweater is from Jacob.  My necklace is from UBC and my bracelet is from Dollarama.  My ring is from Boca Raton Designs at Greek Day and my #SELFIE iPhone case is from Aldo.  I got these earrings at Claire’s.  They have cats on them.  Because why not?  I’m not a cat lady.  I’ve never even owned a pet.  But if I were to ever own one in the future, it would most likely be a cat.  I haven’t washed my hair since I got it cut on Saturday.  And I don’t plan on doing so anytime soon.  I’m still trying to figure out the longest amount of time I can possibly go without washing it.  I also painted my nails.  Badly.  They’ll most likely be chipped by tomorrow.  But my hair looks good, so nothing else matters, right?

Eighty-seventh day of work selfie

I got a haircut a couple days ago at Salon Prive on Arbutus.  I had a Groupon for a haircut and highlights.  So you no longer have to see my long, messy, frizzy hair.  Apparently that trend didn’t catch on for some reason.  I bought this dress from my favourite vendor at the Khatsahlano Street Festival a few weeks ago.  My black sweater is from Sirens.  I got my necklace at the Blim Market Festival downtown a couple weeks ago and my bracelet from Sears.  My earrings and my ring are from Greek Day on Broadway a few weeks ago.

Now I’m going to see how many days I can possibly go without washing my hair in order to maintain this current look.

Eighty-fourth day of work selfie

It was cold this morning so I wore darker colours.  The black dress is from Stitches, the purple tank top is from Smart Set, and the purple jacket is from a Plenty warehouse sale.  My purple necklace is new, I got it from the Blim Market festival downtown on Sunday.  My purple earrings are also new, I got them from Claire’s on Sunday.  My black bracelet is also from Claire’s.  I still need to find a purple one.  My purple ring is from Greek Day on Broadway.  And my #SELFIE iPhone case is from Aldo.

Eighty-third day of work selfie

I decided to wear this blue dress again since blue is my favourite colour.  I got it at Italian Day on Commercial Drive last month.  The matching blue sweater is from Forever 21 on Robson.  I got my blue necklace from Payless at Lansdowne Centre and my blue earrings from Claire’s on Granville.  I got my blue and gold bracelet is from the Khatsahlano Street Festival on West 4th a couple weekends ago.  I finally got myself a blue ring on Sunday at the Blim Market Festival downtown on Granville.  I like buying jewellery from local vendors that’s crafty and unique.  And my #SELFIE iPhone case is from the Aldo outlet store on Granville.

Eighty-second day of work selfie

And we’re back to dresses.  I got this dress at a vendor at Fiji Day at Swanguard Stadium in Burnaby on Saturday.  My sister was working at the event at the face painting booth, and my dad was like “Are you going?  Don’t you go to all the festivals?” so I decided to check it out.  I’m annoyed, because I have two other dresses in this style, that I got from the vendor I usually buy from at street festivals.  Why am I annoyed?  Because the vendor I bought this new dress from on Saturday sells the same style of dresses for less than half the price that I’ve been paying at the other place.  They didn’t have as many different kinds though.  I have the same dress in red, but slightly shorter, which I was actually wearing when I bought this one.  There was a black and grey one as well, but my friend bought it, so I went with the brown one.  I like that they’re easy to just try on over what you’re already wearing, and that they’re stretchy and one size fits all.   My blue cardigan is from Forever 21.  I got my necklace from Payless and my earrings from a vendor at Car Free Day on Main Street.  My bracelet is from a vendor at Carnaval del Sol a couple weekends ago, and my ring is from a vendor at the Blim Market Festival on Granville Street that I went to yesterday.  I also go a new iPhone case at Aldo yesterday.  My hand is covering it, but it says #SELFIE on it.  I felt like that was appropriate for me.

Eighty-first day of work selfie

This has been a week of pants.  Because why not?  I got this top from an Orb warehouse sale a few years ago.  My green cardigan is from Ross Dress For Less and my black pants are from Old Navy.  My green leaf necklace is from UBC and my green earrings are from Car Free Day on Main Street.  My matching bracelet is from Dollarama and my green ring is from Greek Day on Broadway.  And I totally left my ring in my office and forgot about it.  I didn’t realize it until I was already at the bus stop, suddenly aware of my naked finger.  That ring is my blingiest one, so now my weekend will be filled with less bling than it otherwise could have.  I’ll have to make up for it in some other way.

Seventy-ninth day of work selfie

I don’t know where I got this light pink top from.  I’m going to take a guess and say Urban Planet?  The navy blue cardigan is from Bryan’s and the black pants are from Old Navy.  I got my necklace from my favourite street vendor at Greek Day on Broadway and I got my earrings from another vendor at Car Free Day on Main Street.  My bracelet is from Suzy Shier.  My black ring is from my favourite street vendor who was also at Carnaval Del Sol.  I thought I would give my ring finger a rest and accessorize my middle finger instead.

Seventy-eighth day of work selfie

I got this light blue and orange floral top at Bryan’s at Lansdowne Centre.  I haven’t shopped there in a while, but I used to buy stuff there all the time.  My black pants are from Old Navy at Richmond Centre. My blue sweater and my blue bracelet are from the Sears that used to be at Richmond Centre.  My blue flower necklace is from UBC and my green ring is from Greek Day.  I’m still in search of a blue one.

Seventy-seventh day of work selfie

It was kind of cold this morning so I actually wore pants.  I got them from La Vie En Rose Aqua at Richmond Centre.  My purple top is from the Plenty warehouse sale that took place at the Vancouver Convention Centre during Easter long weekend.  My black sweater is from the Sears that used to be at Richmond Centre.  I got my necklace from a vendor at Greek Day on Broadway a few weeks ago.  That same vendor is at literally every street festival I go to.  And I always end up buying stuff from there.  I got this new black ring from them yesterday at Carnaval del Sol at Concord Pacific Place.  I got my dangly purple earrings from a vendor at Car Free Day on Main Street last month.  My black bracelet is from Claire’s at Richmond Centre and my purple ring is from Boca Raton Designs at Greek Day.  I feel like maybe a should keep a thicker sweater in my office because it’s colder inside than it is outside.  Or maybe a blanket?
