Ninety-sixth day of work selfie

I love long dresses because you don’t have to shave and no one will know.  Unless you decide to blog about how you haven’t shaved.  I got this long dress at the Khatsahlano Street Festival on West 4th last month.  I’m used to buying a lot of shorter dresses, so this one was kind of different and I loved the colour scheme.  When I left the house this morning, my dad asked “New dress?” and I said “What do you mean by new?” and he said “You haven’t worn it to work yet?” and I said “Yeah.”  How much time has to pass before an item is no longer considered new?

I got this purple sweater at H&M at Richmond Centre.  My black necklace is from Claire’s and my black bracelet is from a Christmas craft fair at Stevetson Community Centre in Richmond last year.  My purple clothespin earrings and my purple ring are both from Greek Day on Broadway.  Sadly, my hair is no longer straight.  Because I washed it again and it takes a long ass time just to dry, so forget straightening.  But I think it’s still slightly less messy than it was when it was longer.

It was kind of cold this morning so I actually wore pants.  I got them from La Vie En Rose Aqua at Richmond Centre.  My purple top is from the Plenty warehouse sale that took place at the Vancouver Convention Centre during Easter long weekend.  My black sweater is from the Sears that used to be at Richmond Centre.  I got my necklace from a vendor at Greek Day on Broadway a few weeks ago.  That same vendor is at literally every street festival I go to.  And I always end up buying stuff from there.  I got this new black ring from them yesterday at Carnaval del Sol at Concord Pacific Place.  I got my dangly purple earrings from a vendor at Car Free Day on Main Street last month.  My black bracelet is from Claire’s at Richmond Centre and my purple ring is from Boca Raton Designs at Greek Day.  I feel like maybe a should keep a thicker sweater in my office because it’s colder inside than it is outside.  Or maybe a blanket?

I probably should have worn pants since it was actually kind of cold this morning but oh well.  Like I said, I’m just going to continue wearing dresses because I can.  Unless someone can direct me to a store where I can buy a pair of pants that are comfortable and look good and fit well.  As far as I’m aware, none exist.  I got this dress at Suzy Shier.  It’s not new, I just haven’t worn it to work before.  It came with a belt, but I don’t know what the hell happened to that belt.  One of the belt loops on the side of the dress is broken.  I think it may have been torn when I bought it, so I got like 10% off or something.  I figured it would tear eventually and I’m not a belt person anyway.  This navy blue cardigan is new, I got it at La Vie En Rose.  So maybe it’s technically lounge wear, but can you even tell?  My green leaf necklace is from UBC, my green zipper earrings are from Claire’s, and my green ring is from Greek Day.

I know it’s hot as hell today, but I didn’t feel like shaving so I’m wearing pants.  Besides, I said I didn’t want to let the weather dictate my choice of clothing.  If I’d read the news before I left the house this morning, I probably would’ve worn something rainbow coloured to celebrate marriage equality in the States.  I got this top at a department store called Red Apple in Revelstoke.  I went there with my family a couple years ago because my dad had a reunion with some of his high school buddies.  I don’t think I could ever live in a small town.  Shopping wise, I was like “This is it?”.  Red Apple is kind of like a Winners or a Walmart, but smaller with not as much stuff.  But I managed to pick up few nice things there, this top included.  My mint green cardigan is from Jacob and my black pants are from Winners.  My Swarovski necklace was a Christmas gift from my cousins.  My bracelet is from Sears and my ring is from UBC.  These earrings are new.  I got them at Payless, along with some other BOGO jewellery over the weekend.  I guess maybe I’ll shave tomorrow and start wearing dresses again.  Maybe.

I’m not dressed very summery today.  But screw the weather, I’ll wear what I want.  Besides, temperatures are supposed to soar this weekend, so I’ll save the summery dresses for that.  I got this top at an Orb warehouse sale.  The red sweater is from Sears and the pants are from Winners.  My Nintendo heart necklace is from Fan Expo Vancouver, my bracelet is from Dollarama, and my ring is from UBC.  My earrings are new, I got them from a vendor at Car Free Day on Main Street on Sunday.  The same vendor I got the blue earrings from, who called me back to his booth to offer me a free third pair of earrings if I bought the first two.  I touched up my nail polish with a clear coat of polish.  Do they look shinier now?  I realized I should have painted them red since Canada Day is coming up next week.  I don’t want to remove the polish and repaint them since they actually look decent.  But it’s okay, I have plenty of red jewellery and clothing to make up for it.

I may as well have given up blogging for Lent

Because I’m barely doing it anymore. And it’s upsetting me that I haven’t been able to. I’m thinking I’ll have more time for it in April. Maybe. I’m way behind and will never catch up. But it’s okay. In time, I will once again become accustomed to blogging. Wish me luck.

What’s worse than being put on hold?

Being put on hold when the hold music is a Nickelback song.Ā  If that ever happens to me again, I’m hanging up the phone.
